A place with personality, character, and a view that makes you stop for a second and take it all in.
That’s exactly what made Rebecca and Adam’s wedding at the Polygon Gallery in North Vancouver so unforgettable.
With stunning views of the Vancouver skyline, a beautiful modern gallery setting, and two people who were so clearly crazy about each other, their wedding day had that perfect mix of sophistication, emotion, and fun.
And there was a lot of emotion.
From the quiet moments to the big ones, you could feel just how much this day meant to Rebecca and Adam. They are one of those couples who are absolutely stunning inside and out, and it was such a joy to document all of the little in-between moments alongside the big ones.
One of my favourite parts of the day was getting to take their portraits throughout the gallery space. At the time, the Polygon Gallery was home to the exhibition Star Witness, and having the opportunity to incorporate the artwork into their portraits made for something really unique.
There’s something so fun about wedding portraits that don’t look like every other wedding portrait. The gallery gave us incredible textures, shapes, colours, and artwork to play with, while still keeping the focus exactly where it should be…on Rebecca and Adam!
And did I mention the view?!
The Polygon Gallery is such an incredible spot for an evening wedding. As the reception got underway, the Vancouver skyline became part of the backdrop, with the city lights stretching out across the water. It was one of those settings where you really don’t need to add much. The city was already putting on a pretty spectacular show.
But as beautiful as the setting was, what I’ll remember most is the energy of the evening.
There were so many heartfelt moments, plenty of laughter, and the kind of atmosphere that happens when everyone in the room is genuinely there to celebrate two people they love.
And then, because every great wedding needs a proper ending, the Dolce Amore Ice Cream cart rolled in….
Ice cream, a city skyline, and a dance party? Honestly, I’m not sure you could ask for a better way to finish the night.
I’m beyond grateful to have captured Rebecca + Adam’s wedding day!

The White Peony Styled Shoot
This Victoria, BC styled shoot for The White Peony, a bridal atelier showcasing its stunning gowns, was a beautiful exploration of two distinct settings: an intimate restaurant-inspired celebration at Rudi Restaurant and a coastal portrait experience by the water.
With creative direction by Rock Paper Square, the editorial brought together refined, fashion-forward bridal style with the natural beauty of the West Coast. As the photographer, I loved capturing the contrast between these two settings and the way each one told its own story.
The first part of the editorial took place at Rudi Restaurant in Victoria. Drawing inspiration from the restaurant setting, the shoot explored a different side of wedding photography. Rather than a traditional wedding venue, the space offered an opportunity to imagine a wedding celebration through the lens of dining, connection, and understated elegance.
I absolutely LOVED photographing the details of this portion of the shoot. The way the model interacted with the space in her dress, the stunning green tablescape that tied into the natural elements of the restaurant decor, and the editorial feel that allowed the images to be both fashion-focused and emotionally evocative.
For the second part of the shoot, we headed outdoors to embrace a more relaxed coastal atmosphere. The shift from the restaurant to the water was an amazing contrast. Where the first setting felt intimate and refined, the coastal portraits brought a sense of openness, movement, and natural beauty.
Victoria's coastal landscape always leaves me speechless and I loved seeing the model in her gown in a different light. The coastal setting really encouraged a more effortless approach to posing and storytelling. There was room for movement, quiet moments, and portraits that felt organic rather than overly structured.
That versatility is one of the things I love about bridal editorials. They allow us to explore the many ways brides and couples can express their style, from an elegant city celebration to a coastal wedding surrounded by nature.
Working alongside this incredibly creative and talented team made it possible to bring these two visions together and I am so honoured to be a part of this project!

There’s something pretty special about a wedding that doesn’t try too hard. The kind where the guest list is made up of your favourite people, the setting does most of the talking, and the entire day feels like an extension of who you are as a couple.
That’s exactly what made M+J’s wedding at Bilston Creek Farm in Victoria, BC so memorable.
Set among lavender fields, rustic farm charm, and plenty of natural beauty, Bilston Creek is the kind of venue that makes you slow down and take it all in. Add a couple deeply in love, their closest family and friends, and a whole lot of laughter, and you have a wedding day that felt both effortless yet incredibly meaningful.
And honestly, a lavender farm is a pretty iconic place to get married! The flowers are already doing the heavy lifting, and the smells were INCREDIBLE!
If you haven't been to Bilston Creek Farm, it's one of those places that feels a little different the moment you arrive. Located in the Victoria, BC area, this lavender farm offers such a unique setting for a wedding. The lavender fields bring colour, texture, and a distinct sense of place to the day. You don't need to overcomplicate your decor when your venue already looks like it belongs in a summer dream.
I think the best weddings are the ones that feel personal to the people getting married.
Not a performance. Not a checklist of traditions that have to be followed perfectly. Just a day that reflects the couple, their relationship, and the people they want beside them. M+J’s wedding had that feeling.
It was intimate without feeling small. Relaxed without losing any of the significance of the day. Full of love, but also full of the kind of humour and comfort that comes from being surrounded by people who know you well.
Because a wedding doesn't have to be overly elaborate to be meaningful.
Sometimes, you just need your favourite people, a beautiful place, and someone willing to keep the champagne flowing!

As part of the ARC Evolution conference, I had the opportunity to photograph a styled wedding editorial hosted by Cara Mia Photography! This was a creative workshop that brought together thoughtful styling, fashion, florals, architecture, and light.
Rather than simply creating a beautiful wedding scene, the intention behind the shoot was to explore how all of these elements interact: how light changes the feeling of a space, how texture can create visual depth, and how fashion and design can tell a story without needing to be overly elaborate.
The church itself became such an important part of the visual story. At the centre of the space was a STUNNING stained glass window. An element that immediately became a natural source of inspiration. For me as a photographer, spaces like this are the perfect invitation to experiment. Instead of treating the light as something to simply work around, I wanted to lean into it. We played with direction, shadow, contrast, and tone, allowing the natural light to shape the images and create moments that felt more cinematic than traditionally ‘bridal’
One of the things I loved most about this editorial was the opportunity to explore materials and texture. Traditional weddings can sometimes become quite visually predictable. Soft fabrics, delicate florals, pale palettes, and lots of traditionally romantic details. This shoot offered room for contrast and those contrasts are what make an image feel dimensional.
I’m noticing over the years of shooting weddings, I’m increasingly drawn to imagery that doesn't rely on perfection, but instead finds beauty in the relationship between different elements. A fabric catching the light. The subtle movement of a veil. A shadow falling across a wall. The way a bouquet interacts with the lines of a dress. Small details can carry an enormous amount of atmosphere.
Most importantly, photographing this editorial was an opportunity to play! With natural light moving through the church, there were constantly changing tones, angles, and possibilities. Some images could be soft and luminous while others could lean into shadow and richer contrast. Light gives an image its emotional temperature. It can make something feel nostalgic, modern, intimate, dramatic, or almost surreal…sometimes within the same space!
What I took away most from this workshop was the reminder that beautiful wedding photography begins long before the shutter is pressed. It begins with intention. With the choice of a setting. With the materials and textures brought into the space. With the fashion. With the way florals are considered. With the decision to embrace existing architecture rather than hide it.
For all couples who are drawn to thoughtful details, elevated natural settings, fashion, and an experience that feels sophisticated without feeling overly produced, that balance is where the magic happens.

Squamish Estuary Engagement

I spent an incredible evening at the Squamish Estuary with these two, and honestly, it was such a perfect spot for an engagement session.
The Squamish Estuary is wild, peaceful, and incredibly scenic. It has everything you could want for a shoot location! Mountains, open space, tall grass, and some pretty amazing views in every direction. We wandered around, hung out in the grass, and I let them do their thing while I captured it all.
These two were so easy to photograph. Their connection was effortless! They had the kind of love that didn’t need much direction. Between quiet moments together, playful laughter, and the way they naturally gravitated toward one another, every image felt so genuine and intimate.
Lots of laughs, lots of cuddling, and plenty of those in-between moments that make for some of my favourite photos. The mountains in the background definitely didn’t hurt either!
One of my favourite things about engagement sessions is that they’re not really about posing. They’re about creating space for couples to simply enjoy each other. To laugh, dance around, steal a kiss, and forget about the camera for a little while. This session had all of that!
The whole session was relaxed, fun, and very much them. No complicated posing or anything too forced. Just the two of them enjoying an evening together in one of the best spots around Squamish. The location, the light, the landscape, and most importantly, the love. And honestly, those are the sessions I love photographing most.
Hycroft Manor Wedding
Emily + Landon
Emily and Landon's wedding at Hycroft Manor was one of those days where everything flowed perfectly. It was warm, the gardens were in full bloom, and every part of the celebration felt like it belonged exactly where it was.
Set in one of Vancouver's most iconic historic wedding venues, their day leaned into everything that makes a summer garden party wedding work so well. Think lush greenery, timeless architecture, and an atmosphere that was both slow and present.
Emily spent the morning getting ready inside the manor with her closest girlfriends. Landon's morning had the same calm energy with his crew. Before long, everyone was making their way into the gardens as guests settled into the late summer afternoon. The ceremony took place surrounded by the stunning gardens at their summer peak.
One of my favourite parts of photographing weddings at Hycroft is that portraits never feel disconnected from the day! After the ceremony, Emily and Landon didn't disappear for an hour while everyone enjoyed cocktail hour, we simply wandered around the property together.
The stone pathways, ivy-covered walls, and layered gardens offered so much variety without ever leaving the property. My favourite photographs of the two of them happened between locations, when they weren't thinking about the camera at all!
The reception carried the same feeling as the rest of the day. Elegant and relaxed, without feeling overly polished. Long tables, fresh summer florals, and conversations that spilled between courses made it feel more like the best dinner party imaginable than a traditional wedding reception. Guests moved easily between the gardens and the celebration, and as golden hour settled over the manor, it gave us one last stretch of incredible light before the evening gave way to dancing downstairs.
Emily and Landon's wedding reminded me why Hycroft remains one of my favourite wedding venues in Vancouver. It has a rare combination of historic architecture, expansive gardens, and beautiful natural light that makes every part of the day feel so connected.
More than anything, though, it suited them. It was thoughtful, relaxed, and full of meaningful moments!

WORKSHOP RETREAT IN MEXICO
There are certain destinations that naturally invite you to slow down.
Mexico has always been one of those places for me. The warmth of the light, the layered textures of the architecture, and the rich earth tones against endless stretches of ocean. It naturally encourages a different pace of creating, and this editorial retreat was designed around that idea.
Instead of simply creating beautiful images, every shoot began with a concept. We explored how fashion, environment, movement, and intentional styling could work together to tell a story that felt elevated yet effortless. Every detail was chosen with intention to create a cohesive visual narrative. Something that felt as though it belonged within the pages of a luxury magazine.
So what did I take away from this retreat? The most meaningful wedding photographs aren't simply beautiful. They transport you back into the atmosphere of a place. To the warmth in the air, the sound of the ocean, the anticipation before a ceremony begins, or the feeling of wandering unfamiliar streets together after dinner. They preserve not only how everything looked, but how it felt. Destination weddings naturally lend themselves to this kind of storytelling.
Whether you’re planning a celebration along the coast of Mexico, within the rolling hills of Tuscany, beneath the cliffs of Santorini, or surrounded by the mountains of beautiful British Columbia, every destination offers its own rhythm, palette, and personality. Rather than imposing a style onto a location, I love allowing each place to influence the creative direction.
This retreat was a great reminder that so much inspiration is found through travel! Stepping into new environments encourages us to see differently. We notice light more intentionally. We embrace slower moments. We become more connected to our surroundings, and that connection inevitably shapes the images we create.
Perhaps that's why destination weddings continue to inspire me so deeply! They're never simply about the location. They're about bringing together the people you love most in a place that means something to you. They're about creating an experience that extends beyond a single day and becomes part of your story for years and years to come.
For couples dreaming of a wedding that feels refined, intentional, and deeply connected to place, destination weddings offer the opportunity to create something truly timeless.

Weddings On Film
In a world dominated by digital technology, where instant gratification is the norm, there’s something uniquely captivating about shooting in film. I find that film photography offers an unparalleled experience, both creatively and technically. Here’s why I love shooting in film and why it continues to be an essential part of my work!
The Deliberation - One of the most significant differences between digital and film photography is the level of intention involved. With film, each shot counts. There’s no endless storage space, and every frame is precious, which fosters a sense of deliberation and mindfulness. I carefully consider each composition, lighting, and exposure, knowing that I can’t simply review and delete images on the spot, which often leads to more thoughtful photos.
The Magic - There’s a certain magic in the process of shooting with film. From loading the camera to hearing the satisfying click of the shutter, and finally, the anticipation of developing the film, every step is an experience in itself. Unlike digital photography, where results are instantaneous, film requires patience.
The Aesthetic - Film photography offers a unique aesthetic that digital often struggles to replicate. The grain, the dynamic range, and the subtle colour variations lend a timeless quality to the images.
The Permanence - In an era where most images live on screens and in the cloud, film photographs provide a tangible connection to the past. There’s something incredibly satisfying about holding a physical print, knowing that it exists independently of digital storage. Film photos have a certain permanence; they’re physical artifacts that can be cherished, framed, and passed down through generations.
The Imperfections - Film photography teaches me to embrace imperfections. They add character, charm, and authenticity to the images. In a world where digital perfection can sometimes feel sterile, film offers a refreshing and genuine alternative.
Shooting in film is way more than just a technique. It encourages me to slow down, appreciate the process, and connect more deeply with my craft. The aesthetic, the magic, and the timeless quality of film photography are truly irreplaceable!

Hycroft Manor Wedding

Kirsten + Andrew’s love story began when a close mutual friend set them up on a blind date. When they first came to me, they mentioned they didn’t really want the fairytale wedding, but just want to have fun – capturing the day and memories, the story, and beautiful in between moments.
The duo chose to get married at Hycroft Manor, which is one of my favourite venues in Vancouver. Alyssa Rae Events took care of all the planning and coordinating, and the florals by La Bomba were some of the most beautiful and elegant I have seen!
But the best part? They had a tattoo artist, Jamie Kan, stop by at the end of the night for them and their guests. They got matching "K+A" initials on their fingers, which was such a sweet symbol of their love!

City Elopement
ANNIE + NOAH
There is something about simple elopements that melts my heart, and Annie + Noah’s was truly so magical. These two wanted to focus on capturing lots of unique portraits before we had their ceremony, so we took advantage of Vancouver’s beautiful downtown, iconic buildings, charming streets, and lush greenery.
After our portrait session, we headed to the rooftop of the Coal Harbour Cactus Club, where their family and friends were waiting for them to exchange their vows. The view was breathtaking and their love was palpable. Their elopement was a beautiful reminder that love is the most important element of any wedding, no matter the size.
Choosing Kaoverii to capture our elopement was one of the best decisions we made! After meeting her for our initial consultation, I was instantly drawn to her beautiful and warm energy and knew that I didn't need to look for anyone else.
As for our wedding day, she was so lovely and such a pleasure to work with, which made the whole process of having our photos taken really fun, relaxing and easy. It felt like we were just dressed up running around with an old friend. She's one of the most genuine and sweet people I've ever met!
Now for the photos... we were absolutely blown away by the final images (which she provided so quickly, how was that even humanly possible?). Kaoverii captured all of our best moments with such an eye for detail, while keeping them candid and emotionally poignant. The composition, lighting, background, foreground, everything came together so beautifully. I can't even begin to describe how incredible they turned out. There were moments she captured that I didn't even realize she was taking photos of. She has a true talent and her love for her craft shows through her art, the photos. We feel so lucky and grateful to have had worked with Kaoverii. I cannot recommend her enough if you're looking for an incredible photographer for your special day!

In the heart of Whistler's artistic haven, Jamie + Andrew painted the canvas of their love story at the enchanting Audain Art Museum. The day unfolded seamlessly, thanks to Bliss Event + Design who took care of all the planning, details, floral and design. I worked to capture the day alongside Eastowest Wedding Films, eternalizing the couple's journey. Jordan Sanders officiated the ceremony, infusing it with heartfelt moments. The celebration continued with Airwaves entertainment setting the perfect rhythm, and Hands Simmer’s Cale Shapera, serenading the night.
The ladies’ radiant beauty was enhanced by Natacha Trottier, and culinary delights curated by The Collective Kitchen, added layers to the experience. Whistler Executive Transport ensured a stylish arrival, and the sweet ending was courtesy of Pure Bread's exquisite cake.
Jamie + Andrew’s wedding day was truly a masterpiece—a symphony of love, laughter, and artistry.

Some love stories take a little time to unfold, and Sophie and Simon’s journey is the perfect example. Growing up just blocks away from each other, they shared years of friendship before Simon finally made the move that changed everything. What Sophie thought was a casual “friend date” turned into the beginning of something truly special.
Fast forward six years, and these two decided to tie the knot in the breathtaking setting of UBC Botanical Gardens. When Sophie and Simon reached out to me, they shared that their vision for the day was all about balance—relaxed and fun, yet polished and organized. They wanted a day where their love for each other and their closest friends and family could truly shine.
As their photographer, my goal was to capture the real-life moments and raw emotions that made their day so unique. From the joyful tears during the ceremony to the laughter-filled reception, every moment was a testament to the deep connection these two share. The lush greenery of UBC Botanical Gardens provided the perfect backdrop, with nature’s beauty complementing the love and happiness radiating from Sophie and Simon.
What made this day even more special was the sense of community and closeness that filled the air. You could feel the love and support from everyone who had gathered to celebrate Sophie and Simon’s next chapter. It was a day where memories were made, not just for the couple, but for everyone who was lucky enough to be a part of it.
If there’s one thing I’ll always remember about Sophie and Simon’s wedding, it’s the way they looked at each other—a look that said, “We’ve known each other forever, but this is just the beginning.” And that’s exactly what I aimed to capture in every shot!
